Clerk's Office Hours Extend to 2:00 P.M. Effective June 21, 2021
SAN BERNARDINO, CA – San Bernardino Superior Court (SBSC) will increase hours of operation for clerk’s offices in each of the court’s locations throughout the county (with the exception of Big Bear and Needles) from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. effective Monday, June 21, 2021 after being reduced since January 4, 2021 due to safety protocols and staffing impacts resulting from the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

COVID-19 Safety Protocols Remain in Place Despite New CDC Guidance
SAN BERNARDINO, CA─ On May 14, 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued new guidance for fully vaccinated individuals except where required by other laws, rules, orders, and workplace requirements. Until state and local health officials ease restrictions, all court users, including judicial officers, employees, attorneys, litigants, and the general public must continue to wear a face covering and maintain six feet of social distance between you and others, while inside any court location until further notice (for details see General Order).

Civil Motion Dates Requests Now Available Via Email
SAN BERNARDINO, CA– In an effort to expand online services and options for reserving civil motions at the San Bernardino Justice Center, the San Bernardino Superior Court (SBJC) is pleased to announce effective May 10, 2021 parties may request motion dates for civil motions heard at the San Bernardino Justice Center by submitting their request via email.

Launch of New Family Law, Probate, LPS, & Child Support Case Management System
SAN BERNARDINO, CA ─ Starting on Friday, May 14, 2021, San Bernardino Superior Court (SBSC) will take its final step of a multi-year effort to transition onto a new case management system for Family Law, Probate, Lanterman-Petris-Short Act (LPS) and Child Support case types.

COVID-19 Safety Protocols Remain in Place as County Enters Orange Tier
SAN BERNARDINO, CA ─ On April 7, 2021, San Bernardino County moved into the Orange Tier of the State’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy. After consultation with the San Bernardino County, Department of Public Health, safety protocols, such as social distancing and face masks, will continue to be required before entering any court location.

Free Virtual Consumer Rights Clinic Starting February 16, 2021
SAN BERNARDINO, CA – San Bernardino Superior Court (SBSC) is pleased to announce that Inland Counties Legal Services, Inc. (ICLS) will be providing free legal aid in its virtual Consumer Rights Clinic to qualified self-representative litigants beginning on February 16, 2021 with debt collection cases. This new service is made possible through grant funding obtained by ICLS.

Limited Free Parking Available at SBJC and Historic Courthouses Effective April 1, 2021
SAN BERNARDINO, CA – Due to budget constraints resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, San Bernardino Superior Court (SBSC) has terminated the parking lot lease which is located directly across from the San Bernardino Justice Center (SBJC). The property owner will restrict all access to the public, including parking, for the foreseeable future. SBSC understands that this necessary step may result in parking challenges and advise all court users to allow extra time to find parking availability after April 1, 2021. Limited free parking is available at SBJC and nearby surrounding areas, including around the courthouse.

New Jury Trials Resume on February 16, 2021 with Safety Protocols in Place
SAN BERNARDINO, CA – Effective February 16, 2021, San Bernardino Superior Court (SBSC) will begin to resume new jury trials due to the State of California lifting its regional-stay-at-home order on January 25, 2021. SBSC continues to follow all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, along with state and local public health orders to ensure the safety of all court users, judicial officers, and employees while balancing access to justice during the COVID-19 pandemic.

SAN BERNARDINO, CA – Effective February 1, 2021, San Bernardino Superior Court (SBSC) will resume all small claims hearings held in Barstow, Joshua Tree, and Fontana due to the State of California lifting its regional-stay-at-home order on January 25, 2021.

Child Support Cases will be Heard at Historic the Week of December 21-24, 2020
SAN BERNARDINO, CA – All cases scheduled to be heard at the Child Support Courthouse from December 21, 2020 through December 24, 2020, will be heard to the Historic Courthouse located at 351 Arrowhead Avenue in San Bernardino. This step has been taken in an abundance of caution to ensure the health and safety of all court users, judicial officers and employees due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

SAN BERNARDINO, CA – The San Bernardino Superior Court (SBSC) continues to follow all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, and state and local public health orders to ensure the safety of all court users, judicial officers and employees while balancing access to justice during the COVID-19 pandemic. The court and its judicial officers have an equal responsibility to protect and uphold our system of justice and to ensure our system remains fair and accessible.

Reduced Clerk's Office Hours Effective January 4, 2021
SAN BERNARDINO, CA – Effective January 4, 2021, all clerk’s offices (with the exception of Big Bear) will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) daily (reduced from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. daily) due to the dramatic increase in the COVID-19 positivity rate in San Bernardino County, severe staffing shortages and to reduce public contact. This change is approved by local implementation order issued by Presiding Michael A. Sachs.
